The EcoFLX™ mission is to provide environmentally friendly IV Mixing Containers for the safety of patients.

The healthcare market is evolving, shifting focus to a sustainable product lifecycle that is safe, effective and eco-friendly.  This shift to PVC-Free materials enables users in their efforts to reduce hazardous waste, save on the total life cycle of costs, and position themselves for future environmental requirements.  The comprehensive and complete line of EcoFLX™ containers do not contain DEHP, plasticizers or phthalates and are PVC-Free.  The EcoFLX™ family of products are leading the way to a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. 

 

  • EcoFLX™ is a comprehensive product line of Empty IV mixing containers designed to address future eco-friendly healthcare requirements.

  • The clear, flexible and sterile containers are available in both PVC-Free and EVA materials.

  • EcoFLX™ is available in sizes from 100mL to 5000mL.

  • All EcoFLX™ products are Sterile, DEHP-Free, PVC-Free and Latex-Free.

  • EcoFLX™ sterile bags can be used for aseptic filling of drugs.

  • EcoFLX™ uses materials made from thermo plastic polyolefin or EVA, with low extractability and leachables.

Where EcoFLX™ is Used

  • EcoFLX™ is used in hospital pharmacies to mix drugs/antibiotics for specific patient requirements in hospitals.

  • EcoFLX™ is used in cancer center pharmacies to mix chemotherapy drugs for specific patient requirements in hospitals or out patient facilities.

  • EcoFLX™ is used in home care pharmacies to mix drugs/antibiotic/chemotherapy/nutrition for specific patient requirements in the home care setting.

  • EcoFLX™ is used in pharmacies to mix nutritional products in EVA/TPN bags for administration in hospitals or home care settings.

  • EcoFLX™ is used by 503B pharmacies to mix drugs or nutritional products to be sold to hospitals, home care, or outpatient clinics.

Doug Johnson
Founder

Douglas Johnson is the founder of Douglas Medical Products, Inc. Prior to joining Douglas Medical Products, Inc., Mr. Johnson served in a variety of management and leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer, VP Sales, and VP of Medical Device Operations. He started his career at Baxter (12 years) in progressive corporate financial and marketing functions. In his final marketing position at Baxter, he oversaw the entire Base IV Administration Set Business ($140MM), Vein Access line, Chemotherapy Infuser line, the Custom IV Administration Set Business and was responsible with the launching of new products/concepts within the IV Systems Division. Since leaving Baxter 27 years ago, he has been involved in 7 early commercialization stage and start-­up medical device & pharmaceutical companies, where 4 were acquired.

Clare

Clare Johnson
Director of Sales

Clare joins the EcoFLX™ team with a background in marketing, sales and design. Clare spent 6 years working in landscape architecture as a designer and Manager of Horticulture Therapy Services at the Chicago Botanic Garden. She has broad experience in collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and developing extensive projects from inception to completion, for both local, City of Chicago and the State of IL. Clare also shared, as co-designer, an extensive Exhibit at the United States Botanic Garden on the Mall in Washington DC in 2015. Clare is a respected professional in her field and is frequently requested to present, in national forums, on Therapeutic Garden Wellness. In addition, Clare been Co-Chairperson for the Slow Food chapter in Chicago. Slow Food is a worldwide non-profit organization that promotes the access to high quality food produced in a sustainable and equitable way. She has traveled internationally to represent the local chapter at worldwide conferences. As Director of Sales, she brings a wealth of experience and is responsible for the management of EcoFLX™ accounts as well as the development of new client relationships.
